Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This page explains what tmz.it stores on your device, in line with § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) and the GDPR.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar tools, such as the browser's local storage, follow the same rules. Some are essential for the site to work; others, such as visit measurement, are used only with your consent.
Who is responsible
Thomas Marco Zimmermann, Südstr. 27, 52064 Aachen, Germany, thomas@tmz.it. More in the Privacy Policy.
Technical storage, always active
It is needed to run the site or remember your settings and does not require consent.
- abluo_consent_tmz (cookie, first party): stores your cookie choice so you are not asked at every visit. Duration: 12 months.
- abluo-theme (browser local storage, first party): remembers whether you prefer the light or dark appearance. It stays until you clear your browser data.
- Visit record for the contact form (browser session storage, first party): while you browse, your browser keeps the page you arrived on, where you came from and how many pages you viewed. It is read only if you send the contact form, never sent anywhere otherwise, and disappears when you close the tab.
Analytics cookies, only with your consent
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC, third party): measures how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location, device, source). It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_ENXGMNJTW4, which last up to 2 years. It is loaded only if you accept analytics, and never before. Event data is kept for 2 months.
Marketing cookies
The site does not use advertising or marketing cookies.
Links to Amazon
The Books section links to Amazon with affiliate tags. tmz.it sets no cookies for this. After you click and arrive on Amazon, Amazon's own cookies apply, as described in its cookie notice.
Embedded content
If a page embeds third-party content such as a video or a map (for example YouTube, Vimeo or Google Maps), it first appears as a placeholder and loads only after you click it or accept external content.
Fonts
Fonts are delivered from tmz.it itself, without requests to Google Fonts.
How to change your choice
Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page to accept, decline or change your choice at any time. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If you decline analytics, cookies already set by Google Analytics may remain until you delete them or they expire.
